Can you explain the whole process?
Sure! The first step is signing up and prepaying for the next snow/ice storm. This reserves your spot on the route and allows us to purchase the necessary materials in advance. As the next storm approaches, we'll stay in touch via email notifications so that you know we're actively monitoring and planning for the upcoming event. Once the majority of the storm's accumulation has completed, we'll dispatch the teams to service all of the properties on the route. Finally, an email notification will be sent once the team has finished the service. We'll send a signup email before each storm thereafter.
What does the service include?
A 2-3 person team will shovel the driveway, sidewalks, and front lead walkway & stoop areas. Upon completion of shoveling, the team will apply a granular deicing material to help prevent and breakdown ice. You can find more info about the product used here:

How does billing work?
Full payment is due at signup. This allows us to reserve your spot on the route, pay for materials, and secure labor resources to execute the service.
*Pricing is good for storms up to 6" of accumulation; 1.5x charge for storms over 6", with the remaining balance due billed upon completion of the service.
What type of materials do you use during the service?
Are the deicing materials safe?
MAG® is safer for concrete. The use of most ice melters can result in damage to concrete sidewalks and driveways. So when you choose or recommend a premium ice melt for concrete, keep this in mind: Independent tests conducted by the National Research Council’s Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP) show that other products caused significantly more chipping and scaling than MAG®. Two additional independent tests by the Virginia Department of Transportation and the Swedish VTI confirm SHRP’s findings that MAG® is significantly safer on concrete.
What does the service NOT INCLUDE?
Anything outside of shoveling and applying deicing materials to the driveway, sidewalks, and front lead walkway & stoop areas. If you need more areas cleared, please let us know and we'll make a note for the team to take care of it. Please note that any extra requests may change the previously agreed upon pricing.
What does 1" snow storm trigger mean?
When snow accumulations at our shop location have reached 1", we consider that a legitimate snow event that needs shoveling (ice storms can have less accumulation but still be "triggered", at the discretion of A Cut Above). At that point, we wait until the majority of the accumulation is completed before sending the crews out to service properties. This process is good for most of our snow events, however, larger storms may void this process and we'll stay in touch with updated email alerts so that you're in the loop with our plan.
What if it's an ice storm instead of a snow storm?
If we're expecting ice with little or no snow, we'll still plan on dispatching the teams but we'll only apply the deicing materials during the service. We only charge half in this scenario, and a credit will be left on your account for the remaining balance, to be used with the next snow/ice event.
Are there any terms & conditions or disclaimers when signing up?
