Fall Turf Recovery Service – FAQs

Fall Turf Recovery Service – FAQs

What is the Fall Turf Recovery Package?

This service includes four coordinated treatments: core aeration, premium tall fescue overseeding, Tenacity weed control, and a starter fertilizer + CarbonPro-G soil amendment combo. It’s designed to repair summer turf damage and prepare your lawn for a strong recovery before winter.

When will my service be performed?

Fall services typically run from early September through October, depending on weather and soil conditions. We’ll email you with a scheduled date window as we get closer to the season.

What type of seed do you use?

We use a premium tall fescue blend specifically chosen for Northern Virginia. It offers excellent drought tolerance, strong disease resistance, and dark green color.

Is Tenacity herbicide safe to use during seeding?

Yes. Tenacity is one of the few herbicides that’s safe to apply at seeding. It suppresses common weeds like crabgrass, chickweed, and oxalis without harming new grass.

What does the starter fertilizer do?

Our 14-20-4 fertilizer provides a boost of phosphorus to drive strong root development, which is crucial for new seed germination and long-term turf strength.

What is CarbonPro-G and why is it included?

CarbonPro-G is a granular soil amendment that improves soil biology, nutrient uptake, and water efficiency. It’s applied after seeding to enhance germination and long-term turf health.

Do I need to be home for the service?

No — you do not need to be home. Just ensure all gates are unlocked and the lawn is clear of toys, hoses, or debris. We’ll notify you before and after the service.

How should I water after the service?

Water lightly once or twice daily for the first 2–3 weeks, keeping the seedbed consistently moist. Once the grass starts establishing, you can reduce to your regular schedule.

How does billing work?

Payment is collected at signup to reserve your spot and lock in pricing. Prices increase weekly through fall, so early registration guarantees the best rate.

Why is this package better than DIY seeding or fertilizing?

This is a professional-grade, all-in-one approach backed by the right products, timing, and methods. It’s designed to restore your lawn efficiently with far better results than store-bought seed or patchy DIY treatments.
